Abstract
On the national territory, pastures are classified as winter, spring-autumn, summer and all-season types depending on the season of their use. This Order establishes that natural persons and legal entities shall use pastures on the basis of documents for the right to use pastures issued by the relevant government agencies depending on the number and type of livestock. The use of pastures begins in the spring after the weather warms up and pasture plants grow back. On the spring-autumn pastures located on the national territory, depending on climatic conditions, grazing of livestock begins in March-April and continues until mid-April or late May. The duration of grazing of livestock on spring pastures is 74 (seventy-four) days, depending on the warming of the weather. When drought sets in and natural meadows dry out on spring-autumn pastures, livestock are driven to summer pastures. The movement of cattle from winter and spring pastures to summer pastures is carried out along cattle driving routes. The movement of cattle from winter pastures to summer pastures takes 20-30 days depending on the distance of the summer pastures. In this case, the transportation of cattle can be carried out by means of special cattle transport vehicles in accordance with the national legislation. The use of summer pastures ends in October. The duration of use of summer pastures is 138 (one hundred thirty eight) days. With the onset of autumn cold weather, the use of summer pastures is stopped, and the cattle are driven to spring-autumn pastures. The duration of keeping cattle on autumn pastures is 45 (forty-five) days. In order to protect cattle after the first snowfall, cattle are driven along cattle drive routes to winter pastures, taking into account pasture resources, to winter pastures until natural grasses grow back. The duration of using winter pastures is 62 (sixty-two) days. If there is a shortage of feed for cattle on winter pastures, livestock breeders prepare feed for wintering on sites near the place where the cattle are kept.
