Presidential Decree No. 862 validating the Regulation on Statistics Agency subordinated to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

This Presidential Decree establishes that Statistics Agency is government body in the field of accounting, statistical policy and economic analysis. The Agency carries out its activities on collection and dissemination of statistical information, guided by the principles of objective and comprehensive study of socio-economic processes taking place in the country, as well as registers administrative and territorial units and settlements. The statistical works which are not included in the Program of statistical works, are carried out at the expense of means of the customer, including under orders of local executive bodies of state power (local government) at the expense of means of the local budget. Statistics Agency operation must ensure that official statistical information is timely, reliable, complete, high-quality and scientifically substantiated.
