Abstract
The scope of these Sanitary Rules and Regulations shall be to prevent and eliminate water pollution from sources of non-centralized water supply for public and individual use. Sanitary rules and regulations apply to utilizable or projected for utilization underground sources of non-centralized water supply, serving to meet the demand of the population in potable water for industrial and household needs. Non-centralized water supply means the use by residents of populated areas of underground water supply sources to meet the demand of the population in potable water for industrial and household needs with the help of water abstraction devices without distribution network. Sources of non-centralized water supply shall be groundwater, abstraction of which is performed through the design of special equipment of water abstraction facilities (mine and tubular wells, spring catchments) of public and individual use. The choice of the location of the water abstraction facilities of the non-centralized water supply is of priority importance in order to maintain the constancy of the quality of potable water, prevent its bacterial or chemical contamination, prevent the incidence of waterborne infections in the population, and prevent possible intoxications. Water abstraction facilities of non-centralized water supply should not be arranged in flooded areas, in wetlands, as well as in places subject to landslides and other types of deformation, as well as closer than 30 meters to highways with heavy traffic. These Sanitary Rules and Regulation establish potable water quality indices.
