Abstract
This Decree-Law creates the “Ai Parapa Plantation Support Programme” and approves its implementing rules. The Programme is implemented through the granting of public subsidies and aims to: a) Stimulate the creation of “Ai Parapa” plant nurseries; b) Expand the “Ai Parapa” plantation areas; c) Combat coastal erosion; d) Improve Timor-Leste's position in the international carbon market; e) Contribute to the affirmation of Timor-Leste as a tourist destination. Associations or community groups that intend to carry out projects to create and maintain “Ai Parapa” nurseries or to plant “Ai Parapa” can benefit from this subsidy.

This Decree-Law enters into force on the day after its publication and takes effect from the date of entry into force of the law that makes the first amendment to Law No. 1/2022 of 3 January.
