Abstract
This Government Resolution approves, under article 115 of the Constitution of the Republic, the following short-term measures to mitigate the economic and social impacts of the crisis caused by the pandemic of COVID-19: a) Assignment of a specific set of food and personal hygiene goods essential items, called “basic basket”, or, alternatively, of a shopping voucher attached to the corresponding goods to be granted to all citizens or residents in Timor-Leste; b) Support for companies and other employers in the private sector, through the creation of a monthly subsidy of a monetary nature; c) Exemption from the duty to pay social contributions by employers, related to the portion they are responsible for, for a period of six months; d) Support for workers in the informal sector, through the creation of a subsidy to be granted to self-employed workers and all the informal labor workers who are not yet registered with Social Security, etc.
