Abstract
This Law, consisting of 33 articles divided into nine Chapters approves the legal regime for consumer protection, defining the functions of the state, the rights of consumers and the involvement of consumer associations. Article 2 establishes that the Law applies to goods and services supplied as well as transmitted by any natural or legal persons, national and foreigner, public and private, that develop with professional character, activities of production, manufacture, export, import, construction, distribution, transportation or marketing of goods and services, with a view to obtaining benefits. It establishes that goods and services placed on the market should not pose a risk to life, health or safety of consumers.
