Ministerial Order No. 2/2017 establishing the Working Group on Climate Change.

This Ministerial Order, consisting of 11 articles divided into three Chapters, establishes the Working Group on Climate Change (WG-CC) under the National Directorate for Climate Change (NDCC) within the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Environment. The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Environment, officially establishes the WG-CC within the NDCC and with other relevant line-ministries. The mission of the WG-CC is to respond to the need of the climate change sector in Timor-Leste, in order to coordinate, engage, facilitate, support and influence stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for Timor-Leste citizens in preparation for the impacts of climate change. The objectives of the WG-CC are to: a) Support the NDCC and the Center for Climate Change and Biodiversity (CCCB), in collecting data on climate change mitigation and adaptation activities that contribute to achieving the immediate and final results of the priority areas identified in the National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA), Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) and other policies related to climate change in Timor-Leste; b) Facilitate collective learning and identify opportunities for programs to implement climate change projects more efficiently by sharing knowledge of experiences, best practices, information and data to improve current and future climate change projects and identify opportunities to collaborate and avoid duplication; c) Organize meetings, events and activities to raise awareness about climate change adaptation and mitigation, climate resilience and a reduction in climate vulnerability for the people of Timor-Leste; d) Act as a consultative body for issues and topics related to climate change.
