Law No. 424-IV “On natural gas and gas supply”.

This Law establishes legal, economic and organizational basis regarding relations in the sphere of gas production and gas supply and is aimed at efficient functioning of gas market and safe management and functioning of gas supply system. It shall be applicable to extraction, processing, storage, transportation, distribution and supply of natural gas. State policy in gas sphere, including gas supply, shall be based upon the following principles: (a) state support of gas sector with the consideration of industrial and environmental security; (b) state regulation of the rational management of gas stock of strategic importance; (c) financial sustainability of gas supply system; (d) promotion of vast usage of natural gas as motor fuel; and (e) ensuring national energy security.
