Abstract
This Act lays down the general framework applicable to criminal matters. It is composed of the following Parts: I) Attempts; II) Harbouring criminals; III) Exemptions for criminal offences and responsibility for acts of involuntary agents; IV) Punishment; V) Trial of offences and alternative verdicts; VI) Procedure against corporations; VII) Offences against the State; VIII) Offences against justice, the public peace, and public morals; IX) Offences against the person; X) Offences against property; XI) Wilful damage to property and animals: trespass; XII) Restitution of stolen property and appropriation of money taken from prisoner on arrest; XIII) Prosecutions and procedure thereon; XIV) Probation of offenders.
Part XI is devoted to wilful damage to property and animals. Penalties shall be applied to any person who intentionally and unlawfully kills, maims or wounds any cattle. Sections 183-185 provide for Killing or maiming animals other than cattle, trees or cultivated plants, and fish fences. Specifically, articke 185 applies to any person who intentionally and unlawfully damages, destroys or takes away any fish fence, net, fish pot or other apparatus of any other person erected or placed for the purpose of catching, taking or keeping turtle or fish or any turtle or fish in any fish fence, net, fish pot or other apparatus.
