Abstract
These Regulations contains rules relative to the importation of plants, trees and related materials into Tonga for purposes of control of pests and diseases affecting plants and trees. Importation of trees, shrub or plants requires a health certificate of the country of origin. Importation of soil, sand, timber and other materials likely to harbour insects and diseases requires a permit the Minister or Director of Agriculture, Forests and Fisheries. The Regulations place restrictions on the importation of specified fruits and vegetables and prescribe rules for the packing of fruit and vegetables. The Regulations also concern inspections of plantations by inspectors and the control of Rhinoceros Beetle. The Schedules to these Regulations prescribe forms.
