Fisheries (Fishing Vessels) Licensing Regulations 2020.

These Regulations provide rules and procedures for the application for the issuance or renewal of locally based foreign fishing vessel licence and foreign fishing vessel licence, high seas fishing vessel, and authorisation to conduct fishery scientific research, test fishing or surveys. These Regulations lay down rules on the conditions that may be imposed from time to time to a locally based foreign fishing vessel licence or a foreign fishing vessel licence; conditions for transshipment by the operator of a vessel licensed under these Regulations to fish in the fishery waters or a vessel in respect of which a high seas fishing permit; period of validity of licences and authorisations; and penalties for the breach of any provision of these regulations or acts in contravention of any licence, permit or authorisation granted pursuant to these regulations. Schedule 3 sets out FAO standard specifications for the marking and identification of fishing vessels operating, or likely to operate in waters of States other than those of the flag State.
