Plant Quarantine (Amendment) Act (No. 10 of 1995).

This Act amends the Plant Quarantine Act (Cap 127) with respect to various matters including: (a) the denomination of authorities; (b) the authority to administer provisions of this Act; (c) fees; (d) restrictions that may be placed by the Minister on entry of plants into Tonga; (e) treatment of imported plants; (f) phytosanitary certificates; and (g) the importation of molluscs. Section 33, here amended, prohibits the importation import into Tonga any living culture or and organism unless a written permit has been issued by the Minister in advance of the importation and importation is in compliance with conditions required under the permit.
