Abstract
This Act provides for the constitution of the Tonga Development Bank as a corporation and defines its functions, powers and rules of internal organization.
The Bank shall enhance the development of the economy of Tonga by giving financial and advisory assistance at its discretion to any enterprise operating or about to operate in Tonga. The Bank may, among other things, provide agricultural extension services to enterprises. The Bank shall acquire and take over from Government the Agricultural Credit Scheme, the Fisheries Loan Scheme and the Small Scale Industries Fund.
