Abstract
This Act provides for the continuance in existence of the Tonga Water Board established by the Tonga Water Board Act (Cap 92) and defines its functions, powers and matters of internal organization. The Act also defines various offences in relation with the supply of water by the Board or its waterworks.
The Board shall provide water supply services for various uses, in any area in which it may be appointed to do so under this Act, or by Regulations made under this Act. The Board of Directors of the Board shall prepare of three-yearly operating plan for the operations of the Board. The Board shall acquire and supply water and construct and maintain waterworks in accordance with provisions of this Act. The Board may prohibit, regulate or restrict the consumption of water supplied by public notice and water consumers shall comply with actions that are required in such notice.
