Abstract
AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE MANAGEMENT, PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION OF THE WATER RESOURCES OF THE KINGDOM
This Act consists of 20 sections and divided into 7 parts; Part 1, outlines the short title, interpretation and that Act binds the Crown; Part 2, on ownership and management of water resources vested upon the state; Part 3, powers of the Water Ministry over the water resources; Part 4, establishes the National Water Resource Committee its functions and powers; Part 5, outlines the elements of the National Water Management Plan including the EIA and spatial plans; Part 6, regulating the taking of water resources where it requires permits and licences to take water, requests for review of decision, environment and health standards applying to water; Part 7, miscellaneous provisions on general offences, power to make regulation including transitional provisions.
