Abstract
These Regulations provide for felling of trees on private land. They are made under section 23 of the Forest Act. A permit to fell any tree on private land shall be in the Form as set out in part B of the First Schedule to these Regulations. A permit for clearfell, i.e. felling of all trees over ten centimetres in diameter at a height of 1.3 metres on private lands shall be in the form as set out in the Second Schedule of these Regulations. Requirements for a felling permit are set out in regulation 6. In specified cases a Forest Management Plan is required. Regulations 8 and 9 concern bulk felling permits. Felling on slopes of more than thirty degrees shall be followed by planting of new trees within eight months. (13 regulations completed by 2 Schedules)
