Abstract
These Regulations implement provisions of the Plant Protection Act regarding the control of plant diseases and pests: examination of imported articles; designation of ports of entry; inspection and treatment of planting material; restrictions on the importation of planting material (including forest trees); a permit to import fruit and vegetables may be issued by the Plant Quarantine Service; restriction on the importation of soft, fleshy fruit and vegetables from certain countries and dried, frozen, preserved or candied fruit and vegetables; restriction on the importation of beneficial organisms; restrictions on packaging material; issue of phytosanitary certificates by the Plant Quarantine Service; and seizure of goods.
