Abstract
This Act makes provision for the licensing of sawmills, i.e. a place used for the sawing of logs into timber. No sawmill shall be operated except by a person duly licensed under this Act. Licences shall be applied for with the Conservator of Forests who may require returns to be made by licensees. A sawmill shall also keep books on its operations. The Act also provides for inspections and prohibits the operation of a sawmill without a licence. The Act also requires a permit to be obtained for transport or otherwise removal or haulage of logs within forest located in State lands or Forest reserves.
