Abstract
The Policy provides decision makers with the information necessary to make informed decisions on the environmental benefits, consequences and risks associated with a variety of policy and program options. The core vision of the Policy revolves around a national and community-centered strategy for the sustainable advancement and guardianship of biodiversity. This strategy bolsters the responsible utilization of natural resources and maintains productive ecosystems, contributing to a resilient Tuvalu. The goal of the Policy is to facilitate organized efforts in safeguarding life-sustaining systems, biodiversity, and cultural heritage. This, in turn, fosters resilience and curbs environmental deterioration in an evolving Tuvalu. The Policy framework establishes guiding principles for decision-making and operationalizes the government's commitments to conserving biodiversity and managing the environment in an all-encompassing, multi-sectoral, and coordinated manner.
