Tuvalu Fisheries Department Annual Work Plan 2021.

This Plan is designed based on the vision of productive inshore fisheries supporting livelihoods and providing healthy local food; sustainable oceanic fisheries providing sustainable and consistent revenue, jobs and other economic opportunities. The Plan aims to to maximize social and economic returns to the people of Tuvalu through sustainable management and wise use of Tuvalu’s living marine resources. The Plan's objectives are sustainable management of Tuvalu’s oceanic fisheries resources; increasing economic benefits; improving costal management; supporting sustainable development of small-scale fisheries; improvement and maintenance of Tuvalu Fisheries Department infrastructure and facilities; development of staff capacity; and promoting public awareness and education on fisheries issues.
