Tuvalu’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) 2025 sets out an integrated framework to strengthen resilience across land, coastal and marine systems in response to rising seas, extreme heat, droughts and intensifying storms, prioritising climate‑smart agriculture, sustainable fisheries, water‑security measures, ecosystem restoration and community‑centred adaptation. It adopts a whole‑of‑government and whole‑of‑society approach, combining scientific assessments with traditional knowledge and outlining phased actions from 2025 to 2100, supported by financing, monitoring, capacity‑building and social‑inclusion mechanisms. The plan emphasises robust data systems and early‑warning capabilities, and recognises the importance of cultural heritage and social cohesion in long‑term resilience. In the water sector, it advances improved rainwater harvesting, resilient storage and strengthened water‑quality monitoring to address increasing drought risk. In food security, it promotes climate‑resilient crops, sustainable fisheries and diversified livelihoods to reduce vulnerability to ocean warming and resource depletion. For coastal and marine areas, it prioritises shoreline protection, nature‑based solutions and long‑term land‑use planning to manage sea‑level rise and safeguard communities.
