Abstract
Tuvalu National Culture Policy Strategic Plan is a national policy with a cross-sectoral approach. The timeframe of this Strategic Plan is 6 years between 2018 and 2024. The overall purpose of this Strategic Plan is to ensure sustainable livelihoods, community well-being and sustainable development of Tuvalu through the protection of cultural heritage and values. The national system for safeguarding, protecting and transmitting the tangible, intangible, land-based, underwater, as well as movable and immovable cultural heritage will be developed with the participation of local communities. Public awareness will be raised on cultural and biological diversity and ecosystem preservation through the traditional cultural practices. Employment opportunities will be increased for all, including youth and women, through the sustainable growth of its cultural production and emerging cultural industries. Gender equality will be ensured in participation to the decision-making processes and access and contribution to cultural life.
