Abstract
These Regulations, made under section 26 of the Cereals and Other Produce Act, implement provisions of the Act with respect to, among other things: specifying in the First Schedule the crops that the Cereals and Other Produce Board of Tanzania may deal with commercially; the power of the Minister to, on the basis of specified criteria, amend the First Schedule; the power of the Board to establish zonal branches; participation of the Board in the implementation of shared functions as agreed by stakeholders at the Council meetings; the power of the Board to enter into agreements with cooperatives and other private persons in relation to specified good agricultural practices; quality assurance of products and hygienic practices; grading; marketing and sales procedures; composition of Zonal Council Forums; promotion of specified crops; and administrative matters of the Board. These Regulations shall apply to any Specified crops grown and processed in Tanzania Mainland as well as imported raw or processed specified cereals and other produce which the Board is dealing with.
