Abstract
These Regulations make provision with respect to Environmental Experts and establish the Environmental Export Committee. The Regulations provide for the certification and registration of Environmental Experts and contain rules relative to the practice and discipline of Environmental Experts and define functions, powers and internal organization of the Committee.
The principal objective of these Regulations is to guarantee the quality of environmental impact studies and environmental audits. The Committee shall advise the National Environmental Management Council (NEMC) on matters regarding Environmental Experts. The Regulations prohibit the carrying out of environmental impact studies or environmental audits as provided for under the Environmental Management Act by persons that are not registered and certified under these Regulations. The Regulations contain a Code of Practice for Environmental Experts in the Fifth Schedule.
