Abstract
This Act makes provision for control of importation, manufacture and sale of agricultural fertlizers and animal food stuffs. There is the obligation to furnish written statements of the fertilizers or animal food stuffs sold and they shall containing information specified in section 3. Any person who sells, offers or exposes for sale animals food stuff which contains deleterious substances shall be guilty of an offence unless proven innocent for any reason described in section 5. Guilty of an offence against this Act is also anyone who sells or offers any fertilizer or animal food stuff containing bone or any other substance derived form an animal carcass which has not been sterilized in a licensed sterilizing plant. Restrictions on the import of bones, etc. are provided for in section 7. Application for licenses of sterilizing plants and licence conditions are described in sections 8 to 11. The Minister may appoint analysts and inspectors for the purpose of this Act (sects. 13 to 17). The Minister may make regulations to better carry out the provisions of this Act as listed in section 19. The remaining part of the Act contains penal provisions and 5 schedules.
