Abstract
These Regulations, made under the Tanzania Food, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 2003, provide rules with respect to transport of meat ( the edible part of a slaughtered animal or poultry that has been inspected by a meat inspector and found fit for human consumption ). An application for a licence to transport meat shall be made in form prescribed in the First Schedule. On receipt of an application for a licence, the Director General shall cause the carrier or container to be inspected and if it complies with the requireme nts of Part I, II, and III of the Second Schedule to these Regulations, shall issue a licence in the form prescribed in the First Schedule. Any meat consignment intended for transportation shall be accompanied by a meat movement permit.
