Abstract
This Act introduces measures for the reduction of use of tobacco in Tanzania and lays down standards for tobacco and tobacco products produced or placed on the market in Tanzania.
Section 4 prescribes that no person shall manufacture or import a tobacco product that is not conform to the standards prescribed by Tanzania Bureau of Standards established by the Standards Act. Section 6 concerns the labelling of tobacco products. Section 31 provides for a Tobacco Products (Regulation) Committee. The Committee shall advise the Minister on matters covered by this Act including the manufacture of tobacco products.
