Abstract
These Regulations, consisting of 18 articles divided into six parts, are designed to govern the establishment of facilities for selling game meat derived from various sources, including (a) resident hunting, (b) tourist hunting, (c) wildlife farms, ranches, and zoos, and (d) culling, cropping, and problem animal control. Part III specifically addresses the procedures for setting up these facilities, and it introduces Article 8, which establishes the Game Meat Selling Advisory Committee. This committee has several key functions, including (i) reviewing and providing recommendations on applications for game meat selling facilities, (ii) continuously evaluating these facilities and offering guidance, (iii) providing advice on guidelines for selling game meat, and (iv) advising on matters related to the registration status of these facilities. Article 11 outlines the responsibilities of facility operators, covering certifications, inspections, and record-keeping. The monitoring and assessment of game meat selling facilities fall under the purview of the Director General, represented by the Chief Executive of the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority.
