Abstract
These Regulations amend the original text so that to improve the management and allocation of hunting blocks, ensure responsible hunting practices, and support community development, by (i) adding the definition of "Board" to mean the Board of Directors of Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority and updating definitions for "conservation fees" and "observer fee"; (Ii) changing the categorization of hunting blocks into three categories based on Grade Point Average scores calculated based on specific criteria outlined in the Tenth Schedule of the Regulations; (iii) introducing a requirement for hunting companies to cease operations and vacate hunting blocks at the end of each hunting term unless renewed; (iv) adding provisions for the Minister to allocate hunting blocks through auction, tender, or other competitive means; (v) reducing or renewing application fees for hunting blocks, and introducing annual contributions to community development projects; (v) updating conditions for professional hunters, including supervision of hunting safaris and guiding clients.
