Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No. 2) Act, 2004 (No. 4 of 2004).

This Act amends the Mining Act, 1998 with respect to: the mining of gemstones; the appointment of Resident Mining Officers; the renewal of prospecting licences; a penalty for the failure to pay royalties by holders of a Mineral Right; and cancellation of a primary prospective licence or a primary mining licence by the Commissioner. A new provision regarding the establishment of the Gemstone Board is added to the principal Act. This Board shall advise the Minister on the development of the gemstone industry.
