Decree No. 587 of the Cabinet of Ministers validating the Detailed instruction for manufacturing of organic production.

This Detailed instruction sets forth the requirements for the manufacturing of organic production of vegetable origin and establishes agrotechnical particulars applicable to the process of manufacturing. The basis for organic production shall be the exclusion from the technological process of the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, genetically modified organisms and their derivatives and products made from genetically modified organisms and conserving agents. In the process of organic production the producer must ensure: (a) conduct of economic activity without harmful effect on soil fertility, contributes to increasing soil fertility and preserve quality thereof, , prevent irreversible loss of humus, nutrients, etc. ; (b) minimum use of non-renewable resources and non-agricultural products; (c) use of the benefits of biologization of agriculture through the expansion of perennial grasses and the introduction of bacterial drugs, increasing the area of agricultural crops sown on green fertilizers; (e) use in ecofriendly processes; (f) recycle waste and by-products of plant origin in the course of organic production; and (g) take into account local or regional ecological balance when choosing products (raw materials) for manufacturing.
