Decree No. 589 of the Cabinet of Ministers validating the Regulation on the procedure of performance of state control in exporting countries.

This Regulation determines the mechanism of state control measures in countries that plan to export (ship) food, food products of non-animal origin or feed of non-animal origin at customs territory of Ukraine, in order to verify the compliance (equivalence) of the state control system of the exporting country to the legislation of Ukraine. Implementation of state control measures in exporting countries with which are concluded agreements on equivalence, shall be performed in accordance with this Regulation (procedure) with the consideration of the particulars defined by such agreements. Inspection of commodities shall be performed by the officials of State Food and Consumer Protection Service of Ukraine at the request of the competent body of the exporting country. The request shall include the following information: (a) type of products, food products of non-animal origin or feed of non-animal origin, which the exporting country plans to export (ship) on customs territory of Ukraine, indicating the codes in accordance with the Ukrainian Foreign Economic Activities Classifier of such products, food of non-animal origin or feed of non-animal origin; (b) expected volume of imports from the exporting country; and (c) quantity and type of capacity, which in accordance with the guarantees provided by the exporting country in terms of compliance (equivalence) of its state control system with the legislation of Ukraine on food and feed, animal health and welfare, are those that meet the requirements of the legislation of Ukraine.
