Decree No. 869 of the Cabinet of Ministers validating the Regulation on the procedure for establishing special conditions for importing foodstuffs and feed.

This Regulation defines the procedure for establishing special conditions for the import of foodstuffs and feed. The establishment of special import conditions is a means of eliminating or reducing to an acceptable level the threat to human and/or animal health posed by the risk of the presence of a dangerous factor in goods being imported (shipped) into the customs territory of Ukraine. The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, on the basis of the results of the state control of cargo with foodstuffs and feed imported (shipped) to the customs territory of Ukraine, which established the non-conformity of foodstuffs or feed originating from other countries, information received from the competent authorities of exporting countries, scientific institutions and relevant international organizations of which Ukraine is a member, as well as the results of state control performed by the competent authority of Ukraine in the exporting country concerned, shall evaluate risks , and in case of excess of the established risk levels, submits to the Ministry of Economy, within five working days, proposals of the Ministry of Economy on the need to establish special import conditions.
