Abstract
The present Law establishes legal, economic and social principles of protection of land with the purpose of ensuring its rational use, creation and improvement of soil fertility, other useful qualities of land, conservation of ecological qualities of topsoil and their protection. The Law consists of 9 Sections that contain 56 articles. Section 1 (arts. 1-4) lays down general provisions. Section 2 (arts. 5-18) establishes plenary powers of state executive bodies and local self-government in the sphere of land protection. Section 3 (arts. 19-21) regards control in the sphere of land protection. Section 4 (arts. 22-27) establishes the system of arrangements in the sphere of land protection. Section 5 (arts. 28-34) establishes state standards and norms in the sphere of land protection. Section 6 (arts. 35-54) regards land protection in the process of carrying out economic activity. Section 7 (art. 55) regards financial arrangements in the sphere of land and soil protection. Section 8 (art. 56) establishes liability for the infringement of the legislation on land protection. Section IX lays down final provisions.
