Abstract
This Law determines legal, social, economic, ecological and organizational principles of manufacturing (mining, extraction) of alternative fuels and also stimulation of raising national consumption thereof to 20 percent of total consumption of fuel by 2020. Alternative fuels shall be considered solid, liquid and gaseous fuels that are alternative in respect to traditional types of fuels and that is produced (extracted) from non-traditional sources and types of energy raw materials. It shall also include biofuels. The sphere of application of this Law shall be energy generation (from alternative fuels), transportation, storage and consumption of alternative fuels. Basic principles of state policy in the sphere of alternative fuels shall be: (a) promotion of the use of non-traditional sources and types of energy obtained from alternative fuels with a view of saving of fuel and energy resources, reduction of energy import, and gradual increase of biofuel production and mixed fuel for motor vehicles.
