Order No. 321 of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources validating the Regulation on the landscape reserve of the national significance “Fedotov shoal”.

Landscape reserve of the national significance “Fedotov shoal” is an integral part of the nature reserve fund of Ukraine, protected as a national heritage, for which a special regime of protection, reproduction and use is established. The scope of the creation of the reserve is protection of the unique sand-bank of the coastal area of the Sea of Azov, which contains wetlands of the national significance, including steppe vegetation with rare and endangered wild flora species and nesting places of birds pertaining to wetlands. The main tasks of the reserve are: (a) conservation in the natural state of sand-bank of the coastal area of the Sea of Azov, including wetlands with unique vegetation and nesting places of waterfowl; (b) conservation of the areas for increasing the number of rare and typical wild fauna and wild flora species; (c) organization of the systematic observations of the state of natural complexes and objects on the territory of the reserve; (d) scientific research; (e) performance of ecological education of the population; (f) creation of conditions for organized tourism and other types of recreational activities with observance of the protection regime of the reserve; and (g) maintaining the overall ecological balance in the region.
