PROTOCOL between the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC) on requirements for honey exported from Ukraine to the People's Republic of China.

The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC) through friendly negotiations, agreed on the following veterinary measures on honey exported from Ukraine to the People's Republic of China. Ukraine shall be responsible for veterinary and sanitary measures for honey intended for export to People's Republic of China. Ukraine will provide China with regulations on honey production, as well as inspection and quarantine programs, a description of methods and processes, and appropriate standards for honey intended for export to the PRC. Ukraine will provide People's Republic of China with information on the State Monitoring Plan for residues of veterinary drugs, food hygiene, honey bee diseases and honey pollutants, together with an annual monitoring report. Ukraine shall develop a detailed system for the prevention and control of honeybee diseases referred to in Articles 4 and 5 as required by the Chinese Party, as well as on other honeybee diseases and regularly inform the Chinese Party thereof. Both Parties will develop a highly efficient system of information exchange for cooperation to investigate and resolve existing problems, and to take corrective and preventive measures to ensure that enterprises comply with China's import requirements. Ukraine constantly ensures compliance of food safety management systems with the requirements of the PRC. If necessary, PRC may periodically send experts to Ukraine for on-site audits or controls. Ukraine will provide the necessary assistance to ensure audit and inspection.
