Protocol on intentions between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia.

The Parties shall facilitate the improvement of the mutually beneficial and unimpeded trade in products of the agro-industrial complex and fish products between Ukraine and the Republic of Latvia, a member state of the European Union. The Parties shall develop cooperation in the sphere of food safety, veterinary, laboratory diagnosis, plant protection and food certification. The Parties shall endeavor to promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of flax and hemp production. The Parties shall endeavor to promote cooperation between the scientific and educational organizations of both countries in the agro-industrial sphere and the implementation of expert support from Latvia in matters of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in this area. The Parties shall encourage the exchange of information on matters of mutual interest between the competent authorities of both countries in accordance with the normative acts and legislation of Ukraine, Latvia and the European Union. The Parties shall promote the joint production of agricultural commodities and promote the creation of new enterprises in the territory of Ukraine and Latvia.
