Strategy of development of export of agricultural commodities, food and processing industry of Ukraine for the period until 2026.

Strategy of development of export of agricultural commodities, food and processing industry of Ukraine for the period until 2026 is a nationwide cross-sectoral policy document aimed at ensuring Ukraine's active presence in the world food market, given the growing external demand and unfulfilled export potential of the industry, provided that the country's food security requirements are strictly observed.
The main objectives of the Strategy shall be as follows: (a) to increase the competitiveness of agricultural commodities and to expand the export nomenclature; (b) to diversify markets, support and development of existing markets; and (c) to promote the Ukrainian brand, information and analytical support for the export of agricultural, food and processed products.
The main challenges for the further development of the agro-industrial sector of Ukraine in the context of increasing exports of agricultural, food and processing products are: (a) adaptation to changing agro-climatic conditions; (b) stimulation of supply (increase of production) in the conditions of limited domestic demand; (c) the need to guarantee product safety (sanitary and phytosanitary measures, development of state control system); (d) transformation of the export structure towards increasing the share of processed products; (e) the need to improve conditions for access to foreign markets for domestic exporters; and (f) the need to diversify the commodity positions of exports of agriculture, food and processing industry (including organic products).
Expected results: (a) formation of effective system of tools for estimating export potential; (b) interaction between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine with agricultural commodities producers associations; (c) an adequate level of support for domestic exporters of agricultural commodities and processed foodstuffs, both on internal and external markets; (d) harmonization of national legislation in the part of sanitary and phytosanitary measures with the European norms, standards and rules; (e) change in the ratio between raw materials, primary processing products and finished products in total agricultural, food and processing exported products from 55/34/11 to 39/40/21 by the end of 2026; and (f) an increase in exports of agricultural commodities and processed foodstuffs in the process of implementation of the Strategy's by 17 percent.
