Abstract
The plan focuses on strategic actions to increase power supply in Uganda, including the commissioning of new hydropower projects and thermal generation capacities, to meet the country's energy needs and drive economic development. The vision of the plan is to ensure the reliable, adequate, and sustainable exploitation, management, and utilization of energy and mineral resources for social and economic development. The text covers an overview of the sector's performance, institutional frameworks, and funding issues, and provides a situational analysis of energy, petroleum, and mineral sub-sectors. Strategies include enhancing electricity infrastructure, promoting rural electrification, boosting petroleum exploration and development, and improving mineral value addition, alongside addressing crosscutting issues like environment, gender, and social inclusion.
