Abstract
The National Industrial Policy of Uganda endeavours to drive industrialization, employment, and wealth generation within the nation. The policy aims to tackle key obstacles impeding Uganda's industrial advancement by fostering competitiveness among local industries, boosting exports, and elevating Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through strategic engagements between the public and private sectors. The Policy mission is to accelerate sustainable industrial transformation through an increased developmental role of the State, reduced cost of production, and improved quality of manufactured goods. The Policy further provides for governmental plans for supporting agro-based manufacturing industries, approaching the cleaner production, and increasing adaptation of environmentally sustainable technologies.
