Abstract
This Act grants legal capacity as a body corporate to the Nile Basin, i.e. the transitional arrangement established by the Nile Basin States in 1999, to foster cooperation and sustainable development of the Nile River for the benefit of the inhabitants of those countries. The Act also provides for some financial and diplomatic arrangements. This is done in accordance with an Agreed Minute of the annual meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Nile Basin States held in Cairo, Egypt, on 14 February 2002 and the arrangements are set out in the Schedule to this Act.
