Peace, Recovery and Development Plan for Northern Uganda (PRDP) 2007-2010.

The PRDP (2007–2010) is a national strategy to stabilise and support recovery in conflict‑affected northern Uganda, aligned with the decentralisation framework, setting one overarching goal—consolidating peace and enabling recovery—through four pillars: restoring state authority, rebuilding communities and supporting IDP return, revitalising the economy, and promoting peace‑building and reconciliation. It sequences 14 priority programmes, assigns responsibilities to ministries and districts, and provides a three‑year budget plan with implementation led by the Office of the Prime Minister. The PRDP will, over the next three years, stimulate production and marketing to shift northern Uganda’s agriculture from subsistence to medium‑scale farming by investing in crops, livestock, fisheries and entomology. The programme supports community livelihoods and sustainable natural‑resource use by promoting on‑farm and reserve forest protection, restoration of degraded ecosystems, and local capacity‑building for environmental planning and management.
