Abstract
This Order implements provisions of the Plant Protection Act with respect to permits for the importation of plants or part of a plants, importation inspection and quarantine, ports of entry, the importation of fodder and living insects, and transit of plant material. No plant or plant material may be imported without a permit of the Commissioner for Agriculture. The Commissioner may require imported plants to be detained in quarantine or in special nurseries or places approved by him or her for such period as he or she may think fit. The importation of all species of fruit trees and fruit grown in or consigned from specified Asian countries is prohibited.
