Abstract
This Instrument, made under section 1 of the Plant Protection, declares the plants Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms and Datura stramonium, to be pests for the purposes of the Act. Section 1 of the Act defines pest: (a) any animal or vegetable organism inimical to the growth or existence of living plants or injurious to plant products; and (c) any other agent capable of producing a communicable disease of plants, which the Minister may declare, by Statutory Instrument, to be a pest for the purposes of this Act.
