Abstract
These Regulations, made under section 107 of the Water Act, make provision with respect to public supply of water and related waterworks. They also concern the protection of water supply resources. The Regulations set out rules for the connection by landowners to the public water system and the metering of supplied water. A water authority shall, whenever it requires a person to connect land to a main or consents to an application to connect to a main, ensure that the water connection is made to the relevant land. A water authority may, at any time and for such period as it thinks fit, interrupt a supply of water so as to: comply with any restriction, prohibition or regulation imposed in that water supply area under section 61 of the Act to prevent the waste of water. Misuse and unauthorized use of water are prohibited. The Regulations also concern water charges.
