Abstract
The 45 sections of the Act are divided into six Parts: Preliminary (I); Powers and Duties of Water Authority (II); Water Rates (III); Supply of Water to Premises (IV); Payment of Rates and Charges (V); General (VI).
The Minister may by Statutory Order prescribe any defined area as "defined area" under this Act (sect. 3). The Minister may also, by Statutory Order, appoint a Water Authority for any defined area (sect. 4). The Authority shall be responsible for the construction and operation of waterworks and the supply of water to the public in the defined area (sect. 5a).
