Abstract
This Part of Title 50 lays down uniform rules and procedures for the importation, exportation, and transportation of wildlife. The regulations contained in this part provide for the importation and exportation at designated ports; permits to import or export wildlife at nondesignated port for scientific purposes or to minimize deterioration or loss or to alleviate undue economic hardship; inspection and clearance of imported wildlife; declaration requirements for import and export; requirements for marking of containers and packages containing any fish or wildlife, including shellfish and fishery products; import/export licenses and application and inspection fees; standards for the humane and healthful transport of wild mammals and birds to the United States; and the implementation of the Captive Wildlife Safety Act relating to prohibited wildlife species.
