Abstract
This Part of the Code of Federal Regulations governs the taking of marine mammals incidental to specified activities such as operation of offshore oil and gas facilities; construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas deepwater port; coastal commercial fireworks and other marine projects. The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) shall carry out specified functions regarding monitoring and control. Requirements for reporting, monitoring and mitigation are specified for holders of an authorization to take incidentally marine mammals.
