Abstract
This Subpart R, implementing provisions of section 303(a) (11) of the Magnuson- Stevens Act, provides for establishing a standardised reporting methodology to assess the amount and type of bycatch occurring in the fishery, and thus minimise bycatch mortality. The Subpart concerns definitions and words usage; information about the characteristics of bycatch in the fishery; feasibility of the standardised reporting methodology; data collection and use.
